TapHang is a loyalty and discovery app for food trucks and local spots. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect when you use the app, the tap page in your browser, or this website, why we collect it, who can see it, and how to delete it. Questions or requests: admin@nominal.solutions.
The short version
- We collect what it takes to check you in, give you points and stop people faking them. Nothing more.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.
- We only read your location at the moment you tap in or look for spots nearby, and only if you allow it. Never in the background.
- Spot owners see totals (how many check-ins, purchases and regulars), not who you are.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time.
What we collect
When you tap in, with or without the app
- A random ID for your phone or browser. It’s created the first time you tap so your points add up. It isn’t your name, number or the phone’s hardware ID.
- Your visits: which spot, when, and the sticker’s one-time tap code, which is how we know the tap was real.
- Your location when you tap, if you allow it, to check you’re actually at the spot. If you don’t share it, you still check in, but the visit doesn’t earn points.
- Purchases, points and rewards confirmed by the spot’s staff tag, and the rewards you redeem.
When you sign in
- Your Apple or Google user ID, a code Apple or Google gives us so you reach the same account on any phone. We don’t receive or keep your password, and we don’t keep the email address from your sign-in.
- A first name, if you add one. It appears with your reviews, and on the local leaderboard only if you choose to join it.
- Your reviews and the spots you follow.
When you look for spots nearby
The app sends your current location to find spots around you. We use it to answer that request and don’t save it to your account.
If you run a spot
- Your application: business name, your name, email and/or phone, address, map pin and anything you tell us.
- Your spot’s public details: name, hours, menu link, rewards, and where a truck is parked today. These are shown to customers.
On this website
The home page and this page set no cookies. Signing in to the dashboard sets one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 14 days; it isn’t used for anything else. The dashboard’s sign-in buttons are provided by Apple and Google, which load them from their own servers.
Service logs
Like most online services, our servers keep logs of requests (such as the page or feature asked for and when) to keep TapHang running and secure. Logs are kept for 30 days.
How we use it
- To check you in, add up your points, and let you redeem rewards.
- To stop fraud: making sure taps are real, that you’re at the spot, and that points aren’t earned twice.
- To show you spots nearby, where trucks are today, and reviews from people who visited.
- To show spot owners their totals: check-ins, purchases, rewards redeemed, new customers and regulars, by day. Owners don’t see who you are.
- To review store owner applications and get in touch about them.
Who else is involved
- Microsoft Azure hosts our servers and database in the United States.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in when you choose “Sign in with Apple” or “Sign in with Google”.
- Apple Maps (iPhone) and Google Maps (Android) draw the map in the app, so they receive the map area you’re looking at.
We share information with others only when the law requires it, or to protect TapHang’s users and spots from fraud or harm.
Deleting your data
Delete your account in the app (in your profile). That removes your Apple or Google sign-in link, your first name, your reviews, the spots you follow, any store owner application, and the locations saved with your visits, and signs you out of the website. Records of past visits and purchases stay, no longer connected to you, so spots’ totals stay correct and points can’t be earned twice. Deleted data can remain in backups for up to 14 days.
To delete what’s tied to a phone that never signed in, or for any other request about your data, email admin@nominal.solutions.
Children
TapHang isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has used it, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
